Jane Elizabeth Bowers passed away on December 26, 2021
Jane worked for Canada Customs in the Pacific Region. She worked her way from border inspections to secondments to the RCMP in international drug enforcement and child protection. The degree of responsibility she took in these investigations earned her the respect of lawyers, judges, and her colleagues.

Passed away on December 30, 2021.
Chris started work in 1976 with the Canadian Border Services Agency at the Peace Arch border. He was well respected at the border and finished his career at the downtown Customs Center located in the Main Vancouver Post office.

Alice Louise Barrett
Alice Louise Barrett passed away on December 8, 2021.
Alice worked at a variety of jobs including Mills Brothers and CJCH radio. She then followed in her father’s footsteps by entering the civil service, becoming a customs inspector, working for 25 years at locations such as the container pier and the Halifax International Airport.

Suzanne M. Kennedy
Sue passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021.
Sue was known as a very kind, and generous colleague and friend. She enjoyed a 30-year career with the Federal Government including time with the CBSA as Finance Manager in the Greater Toronto Area Region.

Robert David Landry
Robert David Landry passed away on November 21, 2021.
David served in the Artillery, Military Police, and as a drug enforcement officer with Customs Canada in the Atlantic Region. David was larger than life and one of the funniest and most kind-hearted people you could ever wish to meet.

Rosalind Ann Bell (nee Ball), passed away peacefully on November 15th, 2021.
Ros was an active life-long learner and readily shared her knowledge and wisdom. Her experiences as an elementary school teacher and a Customs Officer in Vancouver and Montreal, led her to become an instructor at the Canadian Border Services Agency College. She also taught at Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough. Upon returning to Customs, she added Superintendent to her list of roles there. Subsequently, she was an IT trainer and project manager with the Canada Revenue Agency.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation; Canadian Amateur Musicians / Musiciens amateurs du Canada (CAMMAC); or Habitat for Humanity, Greater Ottawa.
Richard John Kowalski
Richard John Kowalski, passed away on November 10, 2021.
Joseph Peter (Butch) Ralbosky passed away on November 8, 2021. Joe had a distinguished 38-year career with Canada Customs, retiring from Criminal Investigations in the Greater Toronto Area Region.
John A. Mallett
John A. Mallett passed away on October 16, 2021, at the young age of 98.

Gregory Manchester Inglis
Gregory Manchester Inglis, died October 15, 2021 in Ottawa.
Greg had a long and diverse career. He began with Canada Customs and Excise as a young man in Winnipeg. He soon worked in investigations and was then transferred to Ottawa, then acted as a liaison officer in London, England and Belgium for five years. Greg returned to Ottawa to finish his career with Customs, retiring in 2003.
Ralph Hector Wright
Ralph Hector Wright passed away on September 12, 2021.
Ralph was employed with the Canada Border Services Agency for 38 years in the Prairie Region as a customs officer and retiring as a superintendent.

Blair Sander MacDonald
Blair Sander MacDonald passed away on September 23, 2021 after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Blair was raised in Yarmouth until he began his career with Canada Border Services Agency in Kentville in the Atlantic Region. Blair worked with CBSA for 36 years, with the last 18 years as a Criminal Investigator. Over those years, Blair was the recipient of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal for his work organizing Christmas gifts for families in need. Blair was also the recipient of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for his contribution to law enforcement and the Peace Officer Exemplary Service Medal. Blair took great pride with his job and will be truly missed by his colleagues he called dear friends.

Randy George Lawrence Crowder
Randy passed away suddenly at home in Cornwall, Ontario on September 22, 2021.
Randy worked as a Border Services Officer at the Port of Cornwall, in the Northern Ontario Region.

Michael worked in the Southern Ontario Region for the Canada Border Service Agency for 33 years and was very passionate about his work. Michael will be remembered for his humour, knowledge, and smile.

Lorna Edna Budgell (nee Jackson) passed away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander, Newfoundland on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, aged 52 years.
The most important thing in Lorna’s short but full life was family. Growing up in Cavendish, she learned the importance of community and being there for others. Lorna served as Border Services Officer at Gander International Airport.
Charles “Charlie” Hutchings passed away at the St. Joseph Health Centre on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at the age of 76.
Charlie worked for Canada Customs and the CBSA in the Greater Toronto Region in Airport Operations as well as serving as the Canada Customs Court Liaison Officer. He was known as a hard working and caring person who always took the time to enjoy moments in life.
In memory of Charlie, a kind smile to a friend or even a stranger would be appreciated.
Joseph Francis Roger Xavier Ouellet passed on May 26, 2021.
Born on January 18, 1946, Roger joined the Canadian Customs Service in 1972 and retired in 2002 after which he moved to B.C. Prior to that Roger was a member of the RCMP. Roger made long-time friends in both careers.
Jacques passed away on June 28, 2021 at the age of Seventy.
Jacques worked at MacDonald-Cartier International Airport and Headquarters.
Donations may be made in Jacques's honour to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Ted passed away on July 20, 2021 at the age 84.
Ted was a Commodity Specialist with Customs and Excise in the former Winnipeg Region.

Lorraine passed away on July 17, 2021 at the age of 59.
Lorraine had a successful career of over 30 years with Canada Border Services Agency working in Atlantic and Prairie Regions and at Headquarters at the National Targeting Centre. She was admired and respected by all levels of staff and management.
Lorraine lived her life with a ‘pay it forward’ approach. We encourage those who loved her to do something kind for someone else in her honour.

Joseph Creighton AKA “Smokey Joe” passed away on June 12, 2021, at the age of 87 years.
Joe worked at Pearson International Airport in Passenger Operations and had retired in November 1996.
“Smokey Joe” was a pleasure to work with, certainly one of the interesting characters of the day that always brought me a smile at the workplace.
Paul David Rath
Paul David Rath passed away on June 4, 2021, at the age of 63 years.
Paul devoted 25 years to the Canada Border Service Agency and retired at the rank of Superintendent in the Pacific Region.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one of Paul’s favourite Canadian charities: World Vision, Operation Smile, the Heart and Stroke Society, the MS Society, and the Red Cross.
Joseph Patrick Ryan
Joseph Patrick Ryan passed away at the age of 58 on May 12, 2021. Joe worked in the CBSA Southern Ontario Region for over 30 years and was a member of the CBSA Honour guard. Donations can be made to CAMH (The Center for Addictions and Mental Health) or Ontario Association for Suicide Prevention.
Jim Duncan Murray
(Jim) Duncan Murray passed away on May 4, 2021, at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, MB.
Jim retired from Canada Customs after working 28 years as a Customs Officer between the Emerson and Winnipeg locations.

Edward Daniel Whitten
Edward passed away at the age of 96. He was born in Orangeville Ontario and he served in World War II for 2 years working in the engine rooms of the Bowmanville & Arnprior ships. Ed retired from Canada Customs after working 21 as a Customs Officer at Vancouver International Airport and Vancouver Marine. Ed had the honour of being one of the last WWII Navy Veterans working in the Public Service.
Marie Klaude Langlois passed away on April 16, 2021. Marie Klaude started as a Customs Officer in 1983 at Douglas. She worked her entire career at Land Borders, starting at Douglas then Huntingdon then Pacific Highway. MK worked in the US Nexus enrolment Centre as well as the Canadian Processing Centre. MK was respected and loved by her peers. She will be missed by all.
Daniel James "Dan " VanBuskirk
Daniel James "Dan" VanBuskirk passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021 at the young age of 55. Dan worked for the CBSA in the Greater Toronto Region. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters Ottawa. Dan was a Big Brother in Toronto many years ago and greatly enjoyed his time with the organization.
Jean Pierre Carriere
Jean Pierre Carriere passed away peacefully on April 9th, 2021. J.P. was happily retired from the Federal Government (Customs). His family is grateful to Dr. Ryan, the Ottawa Heart Institute for giving him nine extra years following his heart transplant, the many doctors and nurses at The Ottawa Hospital for his five years of treatment, and the palliative care staff. Jeevan Singh Sull recently passed away suddenly. Jeevan worked for CBSA in the Pacific Region. Jeevan was a kind and gentle soul. He had a passion for gardening and cooking. In lieu of flowers a tree can be planted in his honour.
Valerie Fung passed away peacefully on March 31, 2021 in Vancouver. She was a lifelong employee of Canada Customs downtown and at the airport before retiring in 2013. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to UBC Hospital Foundation.
John Szewczyk passed away peacefully, on Friday, March 12, 2021. John worked for the CBSA in the Greater Toronto Region, where he retired as Chief of Operations. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
Richard "Dick" Paul Nadon
Richard “Dick” Paul Nadon passed away on March 18, 2021 at the age of 76.
Dick retired from Canada Customs after 30 years; he worked in Cornwall, Lahr West Germany, Niagara Falls, and the Canada Customs College. Dick enjoyed volunteering at St. Vincent De Paul in Welland, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Legion.
Ralph passed away on March 21, 2021, in his 66th year.
Ralph felt blessed by the love of his family, and enjoyed sharing laughter, interests and life's adventures with his family and many dear friends. He gave to his country and community through his service with The Queen's Own Rifles of Canada, The Toronto Police Auxiliary and Canada Border Services Agency, retiring as a Chief of Criminal Investigations with CBSA.

Michael passed away on March 3rd, 2021, at the age of 68. He worked for the Federal Government for 38 years, where he held positions as a Custom Officer, a Manager in Hamilton, ON with assignments in Emerson MB and Regina District before he moved to CCRA Tax for his final years, ending his career in Windsor ON.
