Jane Bowers | Jane Elizabeth Bowers passed away on December 26, 2021 Jane worked for Canada Customs in the Pacific Region. She worked her way from border inspections to secondments to the RCMP in international drug enforcement and child protection. The degree of responsibility she took in these investigations earned her the respect of lawyers, judges, and her colleagues. Christoper Chong | Passed away on December 30, 2021. Chris started work in 1976 with the Canadian Border Services Agency at the Peace Arch border. Alice Louise Barrett | Alice Louise Barrett passed away on December 8, 2021. Alice worked at a variety of jobs including Mills Brothers and CJCH radio. She then followed in her father’s footsteps by entering the civil service, becoming a customs inspector, working for 25 years at locations such as the container pier and the Halifax International Airport. Suzanne M. Kennedy | Sue passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021. Sue was known as a very kind, and generous colleague and friend. She enjoyed a 30-year career with the Federal Government including time with the CBSA as Finance Manager in the Greater Toronto Area Region. Robert David Landry | Robert David Landry passed away on November 21, 2021. David served in the Artillery, Military Police, and as a drug enforcement officer with Customs Canada in the Atlantic Region. Rosalind Bell | Rosalind Ann Bell (nee Ball), passed away peacefully on November 15th, 2021. Ros was an active life-long learner and readily shared her knowledge and wisdom. Her experiences as an elementary school teacher and a Customs Officer in Vancouver and Montreal, led her to become an instructor at the Canadian Border Services Agency College. She also taught at Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough. Upon returning to Customs, she added Superintendent to her list of roles there. Subsequently, she was an IT trainer and project manager with the Canada Revenue Agency. Gregory Manchester Inglis | Gregory Manchester Inglis, died October 15, 2021 in Ottawa. Greg had a long and diverse career. He began with Canada Customs and Excise as a young man in Winnipeg. He soon worked in investigations and was then transferred to Ottawa, then acted as a liaison officer in London, England and Belgium for five years. Greg returned to Ottawa to finish his career with Customs, retiring in 2003. |
Ralph Hector Wright | Ralph Hector Wright passed away on September 12, 2021. Ralph was employed with the Canada Border Services Agency for 38 years in the Prairie Region as a customs officer and retiring as a superintendent. Blair Sander MacDonald | Blair Sander MacDonald passed away on September 23, 2021 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Blair was raised in Yarmouth until he began his career with Canada Border Services Agency in Kentville in the Atlantic Region. Blair worked with CBSA for 36 years, with the last 18 years as a Criminal Investigator. Over those years, Blair was the recipient of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal for his work organizing Christmas gifts for families in need. Blair was also the recipient of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for his contribution to law enforcement and the Peace Officer Exemplary Service Medal. Blair took great pride with his job and will be truly missed by his colleagues he called dear friends. Charles Hutchings | Charles “Charlie” Hutchings passed away at the St. Joseph Health Centre on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at the age of 76. Charlie worked for Canada Customs and the CBSA in the Greater Toronto Region in Airport Operations as well as serving as the Canada Customs Court Liaison Officer. He was known as a hard working and caring person who always took the time to enjoy moments in life. Roger Ouelett | Joseph Francis Roger Xavier Ouellet passed on May 26, 2021. Born on January 18, 1946, Roger joined the Canadian Customs Service in 1972 and retired in 2002 after which he moved to B.C. Prior to that Roger was a member of the RCMP. Roger made long-time friends in both careers. |

Ted Lackey | Ted passed away on July 20, 2021 at the age 84. Ted was a Commodity Specialist with Customs and Excise in the former Winnipeg Region. Lorraine Hyland | Lorraine passed away on July 17, 2021 at the age of 59. Paul devoted 25 years to the Canada Border Service Agency and retired at the rank of Superintendent in the Pacific Region. Edward Daniel Whitten | Edward passed away at the age of 96. He was born in Orangeville Ontario and he served in World War II for 2 years working in the engine rooms of the Bowmanville & Arnprior ships. Ed retired from Canada Customs after working 21 as a Customs Officer at Vancouver International Airport and Vancouver Marine. Ed had the honour of being one of the last WWII Navy Veterans working in the Public Service. |

Marie-Klaude Langlois | Marie Klaude Langlois passed away on April 16, 2021. Marie Klaude started as a Customs Officer in 1983 at Douglas. She worked her entire career at Land Borders, starting at Douglas then Huntingdon then Pacific Highway. MK worked in the US Nexus enrolment Centre as well as the Canadian Processing Centre. MK was respected and loved by her peers. She will be missed by all. |
Daniel James "Dan " VanBuskirk | Daniel James "Dan" VanBuskirk passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021 at the young age of 55. Dan worked for the CBSA in the Greater Toronto Region. Arthur Shogo Kobayash | ARTHUR passed away peacefully, at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre in Toronto, at the age of 91 years. Arthur was a good man who enjoyed being active in Japanese Canadian communities, and the Church. He was a Korean War Vet with Canadian Forces (awarded CD). Frederick "Fred" Allan Sipchenko | Fred passed away of natural causes on Friday, 12 February 2021. Fred’s life was punctuated by a series of transitions leading from the local farming communities which surrounded Ormiston Saskatchewan, through a 32-year career with Canada Customs that brought him from a border customs agent into French language training, on to a key role in Ottawa in customs support to NAFTA implementation, and finishing in the Calgary Customs office. |
